New Zealand NBL seasons

The 2000 New Zealand National Basketball League season was the 19th running of the competition. Only one change occurred heading into the 2000 season, with the Hawke's Bay Hawks returning to the league after finishing as Conference Basketball League runners-up in 1999, replacing the departing Taranaki Oilers, who pulled out due to a lack of funding. The Auckland Rebels won the championship in 2000 to claim their seventh league title.[1]
