The 2004–05 Philadelphia 76ers season was the 66th season of the franchise, 56th in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The season is best remembered for drafting Andre Igoudala and acquiring Chris Webber from Sacramento. However, due to various injuries Chris Webber was not the same player he had been with the Kings just a few years prior. With Webber teamed up with team captain Allen Iverson, the Sixers earned the number 7 seed in the Eastern Conference. Philadelphia's season ended in the first round with a defeat to the eventual Eastern Conference champion Detroit Pistons in five games. After the season, head coach Jim O'Brien was fired after spending only one season with the team.
