The 2004 Pittsburgh Pirates season was the 123rd season of the franchise; the 118th in the National League. This was their fourth season at PNC Park. The Pirates finished fifth in the National League Central with a record of 72–89.

Offseason

  • October 2, 2003: Jeff D'Amico was released by the Pittsburgh Pirates.[2]
  • February 19, 2004: Randall Simon was signed as a Free Agent with the Pittsburgh Pirates.[3]
  • February 24, 2004: Raúl Mondesí signed as a Free Agent with the Pittsburgh Pirates.[4]
