- May 15 - A ferry sinks on the Meghna River in Munshiganj District resulting in at least 12 deaths and hundreds missing.[3]
- May 16 - The ferry that sank on the Meghna River's death toll increased to 25.[3]
- May 17 - Officials call off rescue operations as 54 dead bodies recovered with an unknown number of people missing in a ferry disaster in the Meghna River.[4]
