The Acoustic Lounge on KSFS was a podcast and radio show based in San Francisco, California. The radio show was first broadcast live on September 21, 2006. During the show's first seven months, it was strictly a weekly two-hour program that featured both up and coming acoustic singer-songwriters and similar major label recording artists. In February 2007, the show interviewed recording artist Matt Wertz for its first online podcast. The podcast features sit down interviews with artists and their music. It has interviewed Academy Award winners, BRIT Award winners and Grammy Award winners. Each podcast also displayed live music from the artist's current tour and featured live recordings of their San Francisco performance. During the podcast's first week of release it was advertised on the front page of the iTunes Podcast store. The podcast peaked at number 12 in the music podcast top 100. After its initial success, the show built a strong, steady following with subscribers and listeners in all 50 U.S. States and over 40 countries worldwide.

Since the first Artist Spotlight podcast in March 2007, the Acoustic Lounge adopted two other forms of podcasts into its rotation. The Artists To Watch podcast featured three to four artists who were on the verge of releasing a new record or preparing to tour nationally in the United States. Interviews were conducted over the phone and two to four songs from each artist were featured. The Just Music podcast provided what its title suggests; just music. Ten songs by ten musicians were featured without any interviews. Songs included in Just Music often focused on new tracks from well-known artists in the United States as well as hits from lesser known or foreign artists. On September 17, 2008 the Acoustic Lounge released its first On Air podcast. The episode is a recording of the Acoustic Lounge's September 15, 2008 live broadcast on KSFS radio.

On Thursday, January 22, 2009, The Acoustic Lounge was officially named as one of Podbean's Top 5 most popular Music Podcasts for 2008 during the site's first annual awards.[1] Over one-hundred thousand podcasts were reviewed and graded in the nomination process before award winners were announced.

The last live broadcast of the show occurred on Monday, November 17, 2008 on 88.1 KSFS, the radio station of San Francisco State University. The final podcast was released on January 20, 2012. Both the radio show and podcast were hosted by SFSU alum, Andy Tupman. Born in Leicestershire, England, Tupman grew up in the Greater Manchester area before moving to Los Angeles, California in 1994. The Acoustic Lounge ultimately wrapped upon Tupman joining the production staff of Pixar Animation Studios in April 2012. His past radio work includes stints with radio icons Charlie Tuna and Don Bleu on their Morning Shows for Clear Channel in Los Angeles and San Francisco, respectively.
