Antipode: A Radical Journal of Geography is a peer-reviewed academic journal and related website/blog that covers the field of critical geography. The journal was established by Richard Peet and other faculty and graduate students at Clark University in 1969;[1] it has been published by Blackwell Publishing since 1985 and today is owned and operated by the Antipode Foundation, a charity registered in England and Wales (no. 1142784).[2][3]
It publishes articles which offer analyses of geographical issues such as place, space, landscape, scale, human-environment relations, uneven development, boundaries, borders, and connections. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal had an impact factor of 2.104 in 2014, ranking it 11th out of 76 journals in the category "Geography".[2][3]
Antipode is edited by Sharad Chari (Department of Anthropology, University of the Witwatersrand), Tariq Jazeel (Department of Geography, University College London), Katherine McKittrick (Department of Gender Studies, Queen's University), Jenny Pickerill (Department of Geography, University of Sheffield) and Nik Theodore (Department of Urban Planning and Policy, University of Illinois at Chicago). Its editorial office is managed by the Antipode Foundation's secretary, Andrew Kent.[2][3]
