Astaldi SpA is an Italian multinational major construction company based in Rome, Italy. The group is active in the fields of civil engineering, hydraulic engineering, electromechanical engineering, environmental engineering, and transportation and infrastructure.
History
The company was founded in 1926 by Sante Astaldi, and a member of the Astaldi family remains on the company's board. Astaldi was involved in many major European civil works projects pre-World War II, including the Rome-Naples railroad. After the war, the company extended its activities to Africa, where it focused on road construction. Between the 1950s and the 70s, Astaldi's presence was introduced to the Middle East, Central and South America, and the Far East.
The company split into Impresa Astaldi Estero SpA (for foreign markets) and Impresa Astaldi Estero SpA (for Italian projects) in 1950, but merged to form the present-day Astaldi SpA in the 1980s.
Astaldi continued to diversify its projects, entering new markets in the United States, Turkey and Indonesia throughout the 80s and 90s. Today it is a successful company, with an annual revenue exceeding US$57 Billion.[2]

- Stadionul Naţional completed in 2011[7]
- Pasajul Basarab completed in 2011[8]
Turkey
- Mount Bolu Tunnel, 2,954 m (9,692 ft) long road tunnel completed in 2007[9]
- Golden Horn Metro Bridge, 936 m (3,071 ft) long metro line bridge, completed in February 2014.[10]
- Third Bosphorus Bridge, road-rail bridge under construction with 1,275 m (4,183 ft) main span. Due to be completed in 2015[11]
- İzmit Bay Bridge, road bridge under construction with 1,550 m (5,090 ft) longest span. Due to be completed in 2017[12]

- Caracas Metro in Venezuela completed in 1983[6]
- Large Electron-Positron Collider for CERN, Switzerland completed in 1989[13]
- Copenhagen Metro completed in 2002[14]
- Upgrade for a key stretch of Bulgarian railway infrastructure due to be completed in 2010[15]
- Second line of Warsaw Metro due to be completed in 2013[16]
- Construction of the new International Terminal of Santiago International Airport, Santiago, Chile, to start in 2015.[17]
- Construction of the dome structure of the European Extremely Large Telescope on Cerro Armazones for the European Southern Observatory in Chile the contract for which was signed on 25 May 2016[18]
