In the 2009 election he was elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from the Sagar Lok Sabha constituency of Madhya Pradesh.[1]

He was member of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly during 1993-2003.

He is a lawyer by education at Sagar University and agriculturist by occupation and resides at Sagar district.

He is married to Smt Saroj Singh and has 1 son and 4 daughters.[2]

Currently he is a Cabinet minister for IT and Transport in Madhya Pradesh Government.[3]
