Blood Meridian is a Canadian alternative country band formed in 2004 and based in Vancouver.[1] The band consists of singer and songwriter Matt Camirand (of The Black Halos), guitarist Jeff Lee, keyboardist Shira Blustein, bassist Kevin Grant and drummer Joshua Wells.[2] The band was named for Cormac McCarthy's 1985 novel Blood Meridian, or the Evening Redness in the West.

The band released its debut album, We Almost Made It Home, in 2004 on Teenage USA. They followed up in January 2006 with the EP Soldiers of Christ on Outside Music. In July 2006, they released their second album, Kick Up the Dust on Outside Music in Canada; the album was also released internationally on V2 Records in August. On November 20, 2007 the band released their third album Liquidate Paris!

Camirand and Wells are also members of Black Mountain and Pink Mountaintops, Wells is also in Lightning Dust, and Blustein is a member of The Choir Practice. Jeff Lee and his wife Jenni play in a band called Hard Drugs. Matthew Camirand leads Vancouver Power Three-o The Highway Kind.
