Brecknell Willis is a British company headquartered in Chard, Somerset, and brand-name of electrification equipment for railways, mostly pantographs and contact shoes. [1]
History
Henry Brecknell and Sons began operating in 1854. In 1894 it moved into electrification. Since 1938 it has been in Chard, Somerset, when known as Brecknell, Willis & Co. Ltd.
Structure
It is situated directly on the southern side of the A30 road in Chard next to a Tesco at a roundabout. A little further along the road is Chard's other main engineering employer, Numatic International (quirky vacuum cleaners).
It has been part of the Fandstan Electric Group.
