CJNI-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 95.7 FM in Halifax, Nova Scotia with a News/talk format branded on-air as News 95.7. CJNI's studios are located on Young Street in Halifax, while its transmitter is located on Washmill Lake Drive in Clayton Park. The station is owned by Rogers Media which also owns sister station CFLT-FM. CJNI-FM is currently the only commercial News/talk station in Atlantic Canada.

History

On November 26, 2004, Rogers Communications received CRTC approval for a new English-language News/Talk commercial FM radio station in Halifax to operate on the FM dial at 95.7.[2] It was launched on October 11, 2005 at 5:30 a.m.

The station was networked with CKNI in Moncton and CHNI in Saint John, New Brunswick until August 2014, when they were sold to separate owners and flipped formats.

CJNI-DT, in Halifax CHNI-DT, in saint John CKNI-DT in Moncton and CINI-DT in fredericton will be the CityTV affiliates of the maritimes, first time since 1983 when ASN was the original City Tv station. Rogers TV Bulidings will be shared with the New City TV stations only in three major new Brunswick city and Halifax for the radio studio. These station will also be on future-former blank cable channels
