History

First Period (1920 - 1967)

The Communications club has its roots in a distant eleventh football that was born in the former National Hospice. In the early 20s, the only distraction from the hospicianos children was a Sunday stroll to the Campo Marte, where they had the opportunity to see in action the greatest exponents of the second period of the Guatemalan soccer, such as Medicine, Hercules, Allies, military and others.

By admiration and assimilation Hospice Boys principiaron to practice this sport in the courtyard of the hotel, and was General José María Orellana, the then President of the Republic, who provided them with all the tools necessary for the practice of football. So in 1924 the first set to win his first trophy in the same year is formed, in 1925 winning the cup "Mariano Galvez." From 1926-1928 to win three consecutive championships secondary equipment which earned her promotion to the National League "B" that are undefeated champions in 1929 moving to Major League "A" in 1930. In this year lose an Heredia single game against what is holding them back to the first power of the national football.

Some administrative changes in the direction of campus bring the ban on the practice of football as the walls were stained and some glass but was already sporting tradition rooted in the boys who managed to replace their rag balls broke five coyol and seeds. Hospice recurs in the fields of "Llano de Palomo" and "Santa Cecilia" fields to which the public had numerous as it was known that if the hospice had played good show and free. Hospice had become, incidentally, in a large nursery that supplied the teams of the first division. In 1936 Don Jorge Micheo FC organized the Hospice team, winning several tournaments in the league Santa Cecilia and Llanos de Palomo in youth and school categories. In 1938 he is the undisputed champion in the elementary school category. In 1939, permission for students to leave the premises without major custodians and under the responsibility of Mr. Jorge Micheo is achieved. For 1940 the group is part of the third division of football by winning the tournament unbeaten and ascending to the second division in 1941 Hospice wins the championship of the second division losing only one game and gets his promotion to the first division impressively for he had enrolled in the biggest football just two years before winning the second and third tournaments consecutively and having lost only one game. In 1943 he won the "Guatemala Cup."

In 1945 he tied for first with Tip-Nac and Municipal and playoff series won the "Coca-Cola Cup", which was never delivered. Hospice never met the lowest places in the standings. They identified with the name of Hospicio, eventually gave birth to a beautiful football work, but in 1947, for economic reasons, change the color of his uniform and his name, to be renamed Spain FC name that remains a very short time but which achieves sub-national championship in 1947 and in 1949 achieved the trophy "federation".

The August 16, 1949 the team again renamed, modified, being obtained the franchise from the Ministry of Communications, Posts and Telegraphs, to be renamed communications initiative, then Minister Colonel Carlos Aldana Sandoval. Also in that year, Cream was adopted in uniform, so the team immediately became known as the "CREAM".

Star Ouro.svg THE FIRST TITLE 1956-1957

Founded in 1949, they were adopted by the Ministry of Communications.[1] They have boasted many great local players as well as some impressive foreign imports. As of May 2015, they have won 30 league titles, which puts them over Municipal's record of 29.[2] Also, they have won 5 domestic cup titles as well as 2 major UNCAF club titles.

The team's ownership was associated with the Garcia-Granados family (that of former Guatemalan President Miguel García Granados) and the Arzu family (that of another former president, Alvaro Arzu).

1990s: Success

The team was successful during the 90s, luring renowned foreign players like Costa Ricans Mauricio Wright and Rolando Fonseca as well as Honduras' Milton Núñez.

The team also bought highly esteemed local players from Aurora (such as Martín Machón, Edgar Estrada, and Edwin Westphal) and Municipal (such as Juan Manuel Funes, Jorge Rodas, and Julio Rodas).

This investment paid off by winning several titles, including 4 in a row starting with the 1996–97 league title.

2000s: Struggles

During the 2000s, the team spent money buying pricey foreign players like Carlos Pavon, Mauricio Solís, Ricardo Gonzalez, Fabián Pumar, and Julio Medina III. They also brought back Rolando Fonseca and Milton Núñez. However, they failed to stop arch-rival Municipal from racking up five straight national titles.

Eventually the team was acquired by a Mexican businessman Pedro Portilla.

Ending the Drought

The team went 9 championships without a single title, but it finally ended the drought by winning Apertura 2008. Since, Comunicaciones has failed to win the last three championships, one going to Jalapa and the last two going to Municipal. Comunicaciones won the title again on December 19, 2010 against archrival Municipal on a penalty shootout. On January 2011, Comunicaciones fans received great news when a group of investors decided to invest on "Los Cremas", with the investment, came new world class players such as the goalkeeper Guillen, defenders Carrillo and Montepeque, midfielders Cardenas and Zavala, and the forwards Cardenas, Reyna, and Ochoa who were signed to the club with one mission in mind: To win the CONCACAF Champions League.

Fans

The supporters Alba has been since its inception composed of different strata especially popular Guatemalan society that generation after generation have been faithful followers of the club, in the decade of the 80 I started taking more boom support organized at that time by batons that were located in different areas of the stadium with chants were felt, confetti, balloons and blankets, marking a different pattern of support from the hobbies of the time in the Guatemalan soccer. It was at that time when I printed popularly nicknamed the "Hobby Millionaire" for the thousands of fans and fans of the club throughout the country and outside Guatemala. Currently the Fan Cream is the only one in the country that has adopted the South American type of breath in which all sing in unison Stadium giving a unique atmosphere in the stands .

In the early nineties emerged the first organized group was named as CREAM FORCE regularly were located on the preference of the stadium becoming the largest in the country with over 2500 members and it was not until mid-96 after several differences among its members by way encouraged the Club, Cream Force was divided to make way for the Prime Barra Brava organized in the country. The new Barra decided to change their sector and were in the popular sector of the stadium or South General why is that the name stems that are always placed in the games at that location. The Vltra Svr, was founded in 1997 and is characterized by the breath (support) throughout the game, spectacular receptions, banderazos and hiking being the pioneers in this style of supporting a football club in Guatemala. The bar has large cloths, flags, umbrellas, drums with street musicians, trumpets, drummers and a huge hype brought from Chile to encourage the club. It should be noted that initially the bar was home in transcendental parties over 3000 members. Now the bar has no single leader. It is a group that has decided to take command and who has managed for several years. This group calls itself the usual, and rain or shine the usual be present. Significantly, the original founders of the bar formed a support group called the Old Guard club.

Currently at the Communications CONCACAF Fan club they have the largest Page of Guatemala and is among the 10 most popular clubs in CONCACAF with more than half a million likes on his official account, being undoubtedly the most popular club in Guatemala and one of the most popular clubs in CONCACAF.
