CTE World also known as Corporate Thugz Entertainment, is an American record label founded by American rapper Young Jeezy and his childhood friend Kinky B. As of December 2012 Young Jeezy had officially signed a distribution partnership between his CTE World imprint and Atlantic Records.[1][2] The label has been home to artists such as Young Jeezy, YG, USDA, Tone Trump, Scrilla, Blood Raw, Freddie Gibbs, and 2Eleven.

History

Corporate Thugz Entertainment (now known as CTE World) released its first album in 2001 being Young Jeezy's Thuggin' Under the Influence (T.U.I.) followed by Come Shop wit Me. In 2005 Jeezy got a deal with Def Jam South and Island Def Jam and released he's first studio album Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101. Then in 2006 he released his second studio album The Inspiration: Thug Motivation 102 and in 2007 formed the rap group USDA and signed Slick Pulla, Blood Raw, 211, JW and Boo Rossini to his Corporate Thugz family and released his label's third studio album and USDA's first album Cold Summer (The Authorized Mixtape). In 2008 Young Jeezy released The Recession.

In 2011 Young Jeezy signed Freddie Gibbs, Tone Trump, and Scrilla to CTE World. Freddie Gibbs would leave CTE World in late 2012, and after leaving the label Gibbs said "Anything he (Young Jeezy) tells you is fake." This laid the groundwork for Gibb's album ESGN and the diss records directed at CTE World CEO Young Jeezy.[3] On New Year's Eve 2012 Scrilla announced that he asked for and received his release from CTE, and that there were no hard feelings.[4] First action in the new imprint deal with Atlantic Records, Craig Kallman and Jeezy named Steven "Steve-O" Carless as A&R of Atlantic Records and President of CTE World. [5] In early 2013 Young Jeezy would sign Detroit hip hop group Doughboyz Cashout[6] and later that year West Coast rapper YG was added to the record label.[7] On August 13, 2013, the label released a compilation mixtape featuring Jeezy, Doughboyz Cashout, and YG titled Boss Yo Life Up Gang.[8] The mixtape was supported by the singles "My Nigga" by YG and "Mob Life" by Doughboyz Cashout, both featuring Young Jeezy.
