Capocannoniere

Gunnar Nordahl, by winning the Capocannoniere title five times, is the pluricapocannoniere of the Serie A, while playing at A.C. Milan.

The Serie A Golden Boot known as Capocannoniere (plural: capocannonieri) is the award given to the highest goalscorer in Serie A. The title is currently held by Luca Toni and Mauro Icardi, who scored 22 goals each for Hellas Verona and Internazionale respectively in the 2014–15 season.

The highest number of goals scored to win the Golden Boot is 36, by Gino Rossetti for Torino in 1928–29. Ferenc Hirzer, Julio Libonatti and Gunnar Nordahl are in joint second place for this record; they each scored 35 goals for Juventus, Torino and A.C. Milan respectively.

Gunnar Nordahl of Milan has won the title of pluricapocannoniere, with five successes in 1949–50, 1950–51, 1952–53, 1953–54 and 1954–55, more than any other player in the history of Italian championship.
