History

Chalfont St Peter Football Club was formed in 1926, and played at Gold Hill Common.[2] After the Second world war they joined Great Western Combination league for the 1949–50 season.[3] The club for the 1958–59 season moved to the Parthenon League.[4]

They joined the London League in 1960, but only stayed in the league for two seasons.[5] The club joined the Spartan League in 1963 and played in the league for twelve season, though their highest finish was sixth.[5] In 1976, Chalfont St Peter joined the Athenian League Division Two, which the following season merged with Division One.[5] The following season then saw the club make their debut in the FA Cup, losing to Barking in the first Qualifying Round.

The club finished runners-up in the Athenian League in 1983–84 and gained promotion to the Isthmian League Division Two North.[5] After two seasons the club was transferred to Division Two South, which the club won in 1987–88, gaining promotion to Division One.[6] After six seasons in Division One, Chalfont was relegated to Division Two.[5] Another six season later, they were relegated to Division Three, which was renamed Division Two in 2002.[5] The club left the Isthmian League in 2006 to join the Spartan South Midlands League, when the FA restructured the leagues.[2] After finishing runners-up in 2007–08 and 2009–10, and champions in 2010–11, they were promoted to the Southern Football League Division One Central.[5] During this time, the club also reached the semi-finals of the FA Vase.[5]
