Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture (simplified Chinese: 楚雄彝族自治州; traditional Chinese: 楚雄彜族自治州; pinyin: Chǔxióng Yízú Zìzhìzhōu) is an autonomous prefecture located in central Yunnan Province, China. Chuxiong has an area of 29,256 km2 (11,296 sq mi). The capital of the prefecture is Chuxiong City.

The Chuxiong Prefecture Almanac (1993:411) lists the following two ethnic Hani subgroups and their respective locations.

The Bai language of Chuxiong is different from Bai of Dali, but the two are mutually intelligible nonetheless (Chuxiong Prefecture Almanac 1993:406)
