Ely Urban District

Ely Urban District was a local government district from 1894 to 1974 around the city of Ely in England. The local authority was known as the City of Ely Urban District Council.

It was created in 1894 as an urban district of the Isle of Ely and was transferred to Cambridgeshire and the Isle of Ely in 1965.[1]

In 1911 it had a population of 7,917 and in 1961 the population was 9,803.

The district was abolished in 1974 and Ely became a successor parish in the East Cambridgeshire district of Cambridgeshire.
