The coat of arms of Holmestrand was approved by Royal Resolution on 14 November 1898. [1] It was created by the artist Andreas Bloch (1860-1917). [2] It among other things points to the towns connections with the naval hero Peter Tordenskjold (in the middle of the white eagle is a picture of his ship Hvide Ørn 'white eagle'). [3] The official version of the coat of arms also features a golden mural crown with three towers. [4]

Blasoning
