Coverage error is a kind of error in estimates from a survey. It results from gaps between the sampling frame and the total population. This can lead to biased results and can affect the variance of results.[1]

Coverage error is a kind of nonsampling error. Further discussion and elaboration can be found in Salant and Dillman (1995).[2]
