"Crazy Sexy Wild" is a song by Romanian recording artist Inna. They were produced by Sebastian Barac, Marcel Botezan and Radu Bolfea, better known as the Romanian songwriter and music producer trio Play & Win, and co-written by GoodWill & MGI and Kimberly Cole. First published in May on YouTube and officially released on iTunes in June 2012, "Tu și eu" was sung in Romanian and English language. Inna released a complete English version of the song, entitled "Crazy Sexy Wild" on June 17, 2012. For the international promotion a music video for "Crazy Sexy Wild" was released on August 2, 2012.[1] The music video for "Tu și eu" was released on August 8, 2012.[2] "Tu și eu" became an overwhelming radio hit in Romania, distinctly outperforming its predecessor "Caliente" on the Romanian Top 100. Its top ten entry made Inna the most successful Romanian female artist in Romanian Top 100 chart history.

Background

"Tu și eu" and "Crazy Sexy Wild" were written and produced by Inna's managers and producers, the Romanian songwriter and music producer trio Play & Win, who previously produced Inna's albums Hot and I Am the Club Rocker as well as all her hit singles including "Hot", "Amazing", "Sun Is Up", "Club Rocker" and "Endless".[3] "Tu și eu" was written in both English and Romanian, Inna's native language. The Romanian title can be translated as "You And I". Inna uploaded the Radio Version of the song on her YouTube channel on May 28, 2012.[4] The song officially was made available for downloading on iTunes on June 11, 2012.[5]

Inna released another version of the song, entitled "Crazy Sexy Wild" -- co-written by GoodWill & MGI and Kimberly Cole -- which completely was sung in English language, on June 17, 2012.[6] Acoustic Versions of "Tu și eu" and "Crazy Sexy Wild" were released on June 21, 2012[7] respectively June 24, 2012.[8]

Music video

On August 2, 2012, the music video for the English version of the song, "Crazy Sexy Wild", was released on Inna's YouTube channel.[1] The video for its Romanian fellow "Tu și eu" was released on August 8, 2012.[2] It was shot in California, mostly at Venice Beach.[9] It starts with Inna walking on the beach promenade and spotting a young street musician with his guitar. Instead of giving him some money, she grabs all the banknotes out of his little suitcase and runs away. Annoyed at it, the musician follows Inna to brace her but she convinced him to spend all the money. Together they start buying ice cream and stealing clothes in a shop. At sunset they meet some friends on the beach at a bonfire and enjoy a pleasant evening. After spending the night in a tent directly on the beach, they secretly ride along on the load space of a pick-up truck on the next morning and leave the town. Later in the desert Inna and her lover want to hitch a ride and make a sign with the word "Anywhere". After getting a ride, they leave the car on a motel next to the road. In the motel bar Inna enters a little stage and sings a bit. While Inna then tries to phone home, her love interest starts to flirt with a blond girl at the bar. Inna keeps calm, kisses the girl on the mouth and then chooses a juke box track. She and the musician rent a room for the night but while he falls asleep on the bed, Inna looks through the window and reflects the last two days with the musician. She leaves the motel room early in the morning, while he wakes up later and only finds a bill with the word "Anywhere".

Chart performance

"Tu și eu" became a massive radio hit in Inna's native Romania and one of her most successful singles on the Romanian Top 100. Initially released as a promotional song along with "INNdiA", "Crazy Sexy Wild", "Alright"[10] and "OK",[11] "Tu și eu" and "INNdiA" were the only songs entering the Romanian Top 100. On June 17, 2012, "Tu și eu" debuted at number ninety-five, being in competition with Inna's official single release, "Caliente", which debuted on the chart on May 27, 2012 and only peaked at number eighty-four. "Tu și eu" exceeded "Caliente" on June 24, 2012, rising up to number sixty-seven. Although no official music video was released at that time, "Tu și eu" continued to climb up the chart and reached number eighteen. After the music video release on August 8, 2012, the song rose up to number eleven.[12] On August 19, 2012, it entered the top ten at number seven, becoming her third top ten single in 2012 and the eighth since Inna started her career in 2008. This made her the most successful Romanian female artist in Romanian Top 100 chart history. On September 23, 2012, "Tu și eu" reached its peak position at number five. It spent forty-one weeks on the chart, and re-entered the Romanian Top 100 once again on July 28, 2013, August 18, 2013 and September 1, 2013 respectively, bringing the total of weeks to forty-four.[13]
