CyberArk is an information security company focused on privileged account security. The company's technology is deployed worldwide – primarily in the financial services, energy, retail and healthcare markets. As of September 2014, CyberArk had nearly 1,600 customers, including over 30 of the Fortune 100 and approximately 15% of the Global 2000.[1]

The company has offices in the US, Israel, UK, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Singapore and local sales presence in more than 20 countries.

History

CyberArk was founded in 1999 by Alon N. Cohen, Amit Remez and current CEO Udi Mokady[2] in Israel, who assembled a team of security engineers and worked to implement the digital vault concept and technology (U.S. Patent 6,356,941). The digital vault technology (also known as network vault) combines eight layers of security which resides within an existing network perimeter and focuses around data itself, creating a central repository to share and store proprietary or confidential data. Now branded The Digital Vault, it serves as a foundational element for CyberArk's privileged account security solutions today.[3]

In June 2014, CyberArk filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for an IPO, listing revenues of $66.2 million for 2013.[4] In September 2014, CyberArk became a public company, trading on the NASDAQ under the ticker CYBR.[5]

On October 7, 2015, CyberArk announced plan to acquire privately held Viewfinity, a Massachusetts-based company that specializes in privilege management and application control software. The deal will help CyberArk offer complete security solutions to organizations and companies for protecting their data against external and internal threats.[6]

Products

In January 2014, the company rebranded its product portfolio as CyberArk Privileged Account Security Solution.[7] The CyberArk Privileged Account Security solution includes features that secure, manage and monitor privileged accounts. Each component of the modular solution can be managed independently or utilized in combination for operating systems, databases, applications, hypervisors, network devices, security appliances and more. The solution can be deployed on-premises, in the cloud and across OT/SCADA environments. Products include:

  • Enterprise Password Vault protects privileged credentials based on privileged account security policy and controls for who can access which passwords, and when.
  • Privileged Session Manager isolates, controls, and monitors privileged user access as well as activities for critical UNIX, Linux, and Windows-based systems, databases, and virtual machines.
  • Privileged Threat Analytics analyzes and alerts on malicious privileged user behavior enabling incident response teams to disrupt and respond to an attack.
  • Application Identity Manager eliminates hard-coded credentials, including passwords and encryption keys from applications, service accounts and scripts.
  • On-Demand Privileges Manager allows for control and continuous monitoring of the commands super-users run based on their role and task.
  • SSH Key Manager securely stores, rotates and controls access to SSH keys to prevent unauthorized access to privileged accounts.
