Deli Choices is a line of sandwich rolls containing different fillings. The rolls were released by McDonald's in Australia and New Zealand on October 2004.

Product description

Each sandwich is prepared to order. The bread is toasted (toaster conveyor belt, similar to a pizza oven) prior to being prepared. Meat and cheese fillings are heated in several seconds using a quick-steamer (similar to the device used to steam buns for the Southern Style Chicken Sandwich and Filet-O-Fish). The Bacon & Egg roll and the Deluxe rolls are part of the breakfast menu.

Some stores in Australia are now baking their own rolls in their stores daily, as part of a new McCafe menu that involves baked biscuits. These baked rolls aren't toasted on a conveyor belt, but are kept in a warmer. Stores in Newcastle, NSW are currently trialing deli choices made on wraps, rolls are only available during breakfast; as of the 18th of February 2009, QLD has also changed over.

History

A similar sandwich called the McHero was on the menu in the early 90's, but was recently brought back annually starting in 2004 in franchises in the Cleveland/Akron metro area as the Cavaliers Triple Double. It was also offered there in the summer of 2002 as the Thome Triple in reference to then Cleveland Indians player Jim Thome. It was also marketed in the summer of 1995 in conjunction with the movie Batman Forever.
