Career

After College Hansen began building houses and continued until the savings and loan crisis of 1988. [1].

Wasatch Property Management, Inc.

In 1988 Hansen founded Wasatch Property Management Inc. with a few long time friends by purchasing three apartment buildings[2]. Hansen grew Wasatch to over 16,344 apartment buildings plus commercial properties with assets totaling $4 billion dollars[3].

Real Salt Lake

Hansen became a minority owner in the Real Salt Lake ownership group in October 2009. In January 2013 he became the sole owner[4]. Hansen spearheaded a solar project for Rio Tinto Stadium where Real Salt Lake plays its home games. Rio Tinto Stadium now has the largest solar offset for any professional sports stadium in the United States. Nearly three-quarters of the stadium’s power is derived from solar panels[5]. In 2015 Hansen received the largest fine in the history of the MLS, $150,000 for his comments on the MLS players CBA requests[6].

Charity

Hansen has founded more than 22 charitable trusts over the past thirty years funding a wide variety of causes in the greater Utah area [7].
