Derek David Hales (born 15 December 1951) is an English former footballer.

He is the all-time leading goalscorer for Charlton Athletic (when both league and cup games are taken into account), with his most prolofic season being 1975-76, when he scored 28 league goals and was leading scorer in the Football League Division 2.

After running a pub in his native village Lower Halstow, he is now a PE teacher at the Howard School in Gillingham.[1]
