The Deutscher Segler Verband is the national governing body for the sport of sailing in Germany, recognised by the International Sailing Federation.

History

In 1888 the German Sailing Association was founded as the first chairman Adolpf Burmester. At the offices of the Norddeutscher Regatta Verein in Hamburg met as official founding clubs: North German Regatta Association, Imperial Yacht Club, club sailors house on the Wannsee, SC Rhe Koenigsberg, Berlin Sailing Club, Berlin Regatta Club, Academic Sailors Club (Berlin), Berlin Yacht Club, Hamburg Elbsegel Regatta Association, St Georger sailing club during the year 1933 will be brought into line the DSV. At the same time in 1901, founded by workers in the German Association of Free sailors first trips and betting Yachting Association and then renamed aufgelöst.1934 is the liquidation of the German Federal sailors DSB, so is the DSV since the only trade association in the German sailing.
