Pérez-Jácome obtained an MA in Economics from ITAM and holds an MA in Public Administration from ITAM and an MA in Public Policies from the John F. Kennedy School at Harvard University. He has also taught several subjects at ITAM. Currently he is the Mexican Representative to the OECD in Paris.

  • He was Secretary of Communications and Transport of Mexico from January 2011 to December 2012.
  • He was Deputy Secretary of Budget of Mexico from December 2008 to January 2011.
  • He was Coordinator of the Advisors to the President's Office.
  • He was previously responsible for the Economic Policy area within the Coordination of Public Policies of President Felipe Calderón's transition team.
  • He served as both partner and director of Mercer Management Consulting.
  • From 1997 to 2005, he held various posts in the energy sector, including President of the Energy Regulating Commission, Executive Director of the State Administrative Committee for the Capitalization of Non-Basic Petrochemical Firms and Head of the Investment Promotion Unit of the Energy Secretariat.
  • He has also served as an advisor to the President's Office.
  • Participated in the negotiations of the North American Free Trade Agreements.
  • Was Mexican Agricultural and Forestry Advisor in Canada.
  • He acted as a public policy advisor in specialized offices.
