Douglas Gordon Ross MSP (born 1982 or 1983)[1] is a British politician who is a Scottish Conservative and Unionist Member of Scottish Parliament for the Highlands and Islands region, elected in the Scottish Parliament election, 2016.[2] He was appointed to be shadow cabinet secretary for justice.[3]

Ross is also an active football referee.

Political career

He was elected to Moray council in 2007 but resigned in 2009.[4] In 2012 he was again elected to the Moray council, representing the Fochabers-Lhanbryde ward, although was ousted by colleagues in November 2014.[5]

He has twice stood as the Conservative candidate in the Moray constituency, coming second to Angus Robertson in the 2010 and 2015 elections.

Football referee

Ross is a football referee, who has officiated as an assistant in the Scottish Premiership and in international play.[1][6] Ross was one of the referees chosen for the 2015 Scottish Cup Final, assisting Willie Collum.[7]
