El-Tagamu El Khames
El Tagamu El Khames (Arabic: التجمع الخامس, literally means "the Fifth Gathering", but the official English name is "the Fifth Settlement"; commonly shortened to: التجمع et-Tagammoʿ pronounced [ettæˈɡæmmoʕ]) in one of the districts of New Cairo, Egypt. It is one of the finest districts of the city. It consists of several neighborhoods, including the First, Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth in addition to the West Golf, Choueifat, Diplomats, Narges, Jasmine, Banafseg and South Academy.
Information
One of its largest streets is Ring Road Championship (Al Tes'een) or Street 90, which is located the central axis of the city of New Cairo. It contains centers of financial, administrative and commercial activities to serve the city.
It is one of the fastest areas regarding the rate of construction in Egypt.
Events
Beginning on 5 March 2011, the criminal court of El-Tagamu El Khames was the venue of trial of former Interior Minister Habib el-Adly for corruption, specifically money laundering and embezzlement of public funds.[1]
