Emil Berner (4 December 1921 – 13 June 2008) was a highly decorated Unteroffizier of the Reserves in the Luftwaffe during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Emil Berner was captured by French troops in April 1945 and was released in May 1945.
