Evan Olmstead (born 21 February 1991 in North Vancouver, British Columbia) is a rugby union lock and loose forward who plays for Newcastle Falcons of the Aviva Premiership[1] and the Canadian national team. He made his debut for Canada in 2015 and was part of the Canada squad at the 2015 Rugby World Cup.[2]

Olmstead moved to Sydney, Australia with his family when he was three years old, before returning to Canada in 2011 for the IRB World Junior Trophy. He has since played for the Parramatta Two Blues in Sydney's Shute Shield and the Prairie Wolf Pack in the Canadian Rugby Championship.[3] At the beginning of 2016, Olmstead signed with London Scottish F.C. in the RFU Championship for the rest of the season.[4] Evan’s great-uncle is Hockey Hall of Famer Bert Olmstead, who played for Chicago, Montreal and Toronto from 1948 to 1962.[5]
