Ferdinando Baldi

Ferdinando Baldi (19 May 1927 – 12 November 2007) was an Italian film director, film producer and screenwriter. He was born on 19 May 1927[1] in Cava dei Tirreni, in the Province of Salerno, and died on 12 November 2007, aged 80, in Rome.

Career

He directed nearly 40 films during his career. He began his career directing films in the sword and sandal genre. He also directed many Spaghetti Westerns, including Blindman. He co-directed David and Goliath which starred Orson Welles. Welles also appeared in Baldi's movie The Tartars. During this same time period Baldi was an associate producer on Mario Bava's movie The Whip and the Body.

Baldi appeared as himself in the documentary The Spaghetti West.
