Summary

Part of the Aegina treasure. This golden earring is one of a pair, the other is <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Aegina_treasure_02.jpg" title="File:Aegina treasure 02.jpg">File:Aegina treasure 02.jpg</a>. The main body is hoop from a double-headed snake. Inside are two slim animals, possibly greyhounds, over two monkeys. 14 short chains are hanging from the central part, alternating ending in golden discs and figures of owls. British Museum Catalogue Jewellery #763, the other earring is #764. Another pair of almost identical earrings exist and is numbered as #765 and #766.
