The bridge carries <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nebraska_Highway_11" class="extiw" title="w:Nebraska Highway 11">Nebraska Highway 11</a> across the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loup_River" class="extiw" title="w:Loup River">North Loup River</a> at the northern edge of <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burwell,_Nebraska" class="extiw" title="w:Burwell, Nebraska">Burwell</a>. The <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cantilever_bridge" class="extiw" title="w:Cantilever bridge">cantilevered beam bridge</a> was built in 1940; it is listed in the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Register_of_Historic_Places" class="extiw" title="w:National Register of Historic Places">National Register of Historic Places</a>. At the time the picture was taken, the river was at an unusually high level.
