The <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cantilever_bridge" class="extiw" title="w:Cantilever bridge">cantilevered beam bridge</a> was built in 1940; it is listed in the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Register_of_Historic_Places" class="extiw" title="w:National Register of Historic Places">National Register of Historic Places</a>. At the time the picture was taken, the river was at an unusually high level.
