Summary

Stopping train from Swansea at Carmarthen station.
View southward, towards Carmarthen Junction - thence east to Llanelly, Swansea etc., west to Whitland and Pembroke Dock/Milford Haven/Neyland and Fishguard Harbour; ex-GWR South Wales/West Wales main line. In the northerly direction, in 1962 trains still ran to Llandilo (until 9/9/63) and to Aberystwyth (until 22/2/65, goods to Felin Fach until 1/10/73), but since then it has been a terminal station. On the 16.40 from Swansea, 4-6-0 No. 5938 'Stanley Hall' (built 7/33, withdrawn 5/63) had been driven very hard and given us a lively run.
