Summary
This is the Iron Curtain from the late 1950s up to the late 1980s. Created by <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Kseferovic" title="User:Kseferovic">Vernes Seferovic</a>. Warsaw Pact countries to the east of the Iron Curtain are shaded red; NATO members to the west of it — blue. Militarily neutral countries − grey. Yugoslavia, although communist-run, was independent of the Eastern Bloc and founded the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Aligned_Movement" class="extiw" title="w:Non-Aligned Movement">Non-Aligned Movement</a> in 1961; communist Albania broke with the Soviet Union in the late 1950s, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/People%27s_Socialist_Republic_of_Albania#Albania_in_the_Chinese_Sphere" class="extiw" title="w:People's Socialist Republic of Albania">aligning itself with</a> the People's Republic of China after the Sino-Soviet split; Austria was <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allied_occupation_of_Austria" class="extiw" title="w:Allied occupation of Austria">de-occupied</a> and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Declaration_of_Neutrality" class="extiw" title="w:Declaration of Neutrality">declared itself neutral</a> in 1955.
