A gold <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/stater" class="extiw" title="w:stater">stater</a> coin (weighing 8.31 g) from <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getae" class="extiw" title="w:Getae">Geto</a>-<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dacians" class="extiw" title="w:Dacians">Dacian</a> <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scythia" class="extiw" title="w:Scythia">Scythia</a> (modern-day <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transylvania" class="extiw" title="w:Transylvania">Transylvania</a>), dating from the mid-first century B.C. The <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obverse_and_reverse" class="extiw" title="w:Obverse and reverse">obverse</a> side of the coin, shown on the left, depicts a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_consul" class="extiw" title="w:Roman consul">Roman consul</a> accompanied by two <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/lictor" class="extiw" title="w:lictor">lictors</a>, with a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/monogram" class="extiw" title="w:monogram">monogram</a> to the left and underneath the name ΚΟΣΩΝ, the king under whom this coin was minted. This is now thought to be the Geto-Dacian king <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coson" class="extiw" title="w:Coson">Coson</a>. The coin's <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obverse_and_reverse" class="extiw" title="w:Obverse and reverse">reverse</a> side, shown on the right, depicts an eagle standing on a scepter and holding a wreath.
