Summary
<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NGC_3132" class="extiw" title="en:NGC 3132">NGC 3132</a> is a striking example of a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/planetary_nebula" class="extiw" title="en:planetary nebula">planetary nebula</a>. This expanding cloud of gas, surrounding a dying star, is known to amateur astronomers in the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/southern_hemisphere" class="extiw" title="en:southern hemisphere">southern hemisphere</a> as the Eight-Burst or the Southern Ring nebula.
