Blake's picture of <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Newton" title="Isaac Newton">Newton</a> as a divine <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Geometry" class="mw-redirect" title="Geometry">geometer</a> was one of a series he created whilst living in <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lambeth&action=edit&redlink=1" class="new" title="Lambeth (page does not exist)">Lambeth</a> in the late <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=1790s&action=edit&redlink=1" class="new" title="1790s (page does not exist)">1790s</a>.

Blake's printing appears to have been a form of self-developed <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Monoprint&action=edit&redlink=1" class="new" title="Monoprint (page does not exist)">monoprint</a> which he then finished with additions in <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pen_and_ink&action=edit&redlink=1" class="new" title="Pen and ink (page does not exist)">pen and ink</a> coupled with <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Watercolour&action=edit&redlink=1" class="new" title="Watercolour (page does not exist)">watercolour</a> washes.
