Summary
A Lockheed P-3 Orion of the U.S. Navy Fleet reconnaissance squadron VQ-1 World Watchers. Although VQ-1 normally operates EP-3E aircraft this example may be an UP-3 operated by VQ-1 or one of the P-3s operated by the secret squadrons VPU-1 and VPU-2. They are used to secretly gather intelligence and are painted with false bureau numbers and/or squadron codes. Location: Moffet Field, California, USA. Date: 14 May 2004.
Original text: This Orion (not sure which model) taxied up for a hot load while we were preparing to board the B-24.
