Summary

Alleged Sami drum from Torne lappmark. Frame drum. 50 x 31 cm. No 76 in Ernst Manker's Die lappische Zaubertrommel (1938/1950). According to Manker this in an inauthentic drum (unechte trommel).
Even though it has some resemblance of this drum described and depicted by Johannes Schefferus in a manuscript around 1673–78, there are to many differences to be true. Manker points out dye, symbols and few traces of use to prove this a imitation. Manker suggests that it might be a copy of a model drum ("Modelltrommel") used to educate or imitate, where all known figures from every drum are shown together.
No provenience before 1830 when described at Museum für Volkerkünde, Berlin together with this drum. Now in Ethnologisches Museum, Berlin
