Summary

Toting the Mir Environmental Effects Payload (MEEP), astronaut Linda M. Godwin, mission specialist, translates along the longeron of the Space Shuttle Atlantis' cargo bay starboard side during the March 27, 1996, Extravehicular Activity (EVA). During the docked phase of the mission, astronauts Godwin and Michael R. (Rich) Clifford teamed to mount the MEEP experiments on the Russian Mir Space Station Docking Module (DM). The experiments will collect micrometeoroid debris for more than a year. The MEEP experiments will be removed from the DM by United States astronauts on a future Mir docking mission and returned to Earth.
