Summary
Theophilacti Scolastici Simocatti ep(isto)le morales, rurales et amatorie interpretatione latina. This translation of Theophilact's Greek poems into Latin is the only work <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Nicolaus_Copernicus" title="Nicolaus Copernicus">Nicolaus Copernicus</a> published himself. With the help of Lorenz Rabe, it was printed by Johann Haller in Cracow. The work is dedicated to his uncle, bishop Lucas Watzenrode: "Ad reverendissimum d(omin)um Lucam episcopum warmiensem Nicolai coppernici epistola." According to the German edition of "de revolutionibus"<a class="external autonumber" href="http://de.wikisource.org/wiki/Nicolaus_Coppernicus_aus_Thorn_%C3%BCber_die_Kreisbewegungen_der_Weltk%C3%B6rper#cite_note-4">[1]</a>, the spelling Coppernicus is used in the original, while the Polish edition of "de revolutionibus"<a rel="nofollow" class="external autonumber" href="http://pds.lib.harvard.edu/pds/view/4207896?n=700&imagesize=1200&jp2Res=.25">[2]</a> prints it with a single p only.
