Summary

German Bastonade table, a device used during the Third Reich in women's penal institutions, Gestapo prisons and work education camps (AELs), depicted after descriptions by witnesses. The delinquent was strapped onto the table, the soles of the person's bare feet were then repeatedly beaten with an implement. This specific method of physical punishment is called bastinado or foot whipping, the most common German term is "Bastonade".
