Summary

This charger is unusual in that it was decorated by <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/John_Pearson" class="mw-redirect" title="John Pearson">John Pearson</a>, better known as a founder member of the Guild of Handicraft in 1888. Prior to 1888 Pearson worked at <a href="//commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/William_De_Morgan" class="mw-redirect" title="William De Morgan">William De Morgan</a>'s pottery works and it is believed that his later metalwork was inspired by his time at the works.
