Summary
Map showing <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Submarine_communications_cable" class="extiw" title="en:Submarine communications cable">submarine telecommunication cables</a> around the world. Note that the map is outdated (see <a rel="nofollow" class="external text" href="http://chromosome.files.wordpress.com/2008/12/2236276483-8c9e6a9529-o.jpg">this map</a>, notice the new cables on the left at the American continent and on the right of the Afican continent). Note that centralised internet distribution (as with submarine cables) is generally a good thing, as it is an incentive for people to live in the city, hereby reducing environmental pressure of these people on the planet.
