The spouse or partner of the President of the French Republic (French: l'épouse du président de la République française) often plays a protocol role at the Élysée Palace and during official visits, though France has no official title of First Lady.[1] As of January 2014, following the end of François Hollande and Valérie Trierweiler's relationship, there is no incumbent.[1]
