First Nations Experience (FNX) is a non-profit television channel for, and featuring, Native Americans in the United States. FNX broadcasts from the San Bernardino Valley College, and is a sister station of KVCR-DT, a service of the San Bernardino Community College District in San Bernardino, California. FNX is a member of PBS, and is distributed to selected public television and local cable channels nationwide.

The FNX television channel presents Native American stories and content to create a diverse and entertaining channel across all media platforms 24/7. The unique non-profit channel is the result of a shared vision and values between the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and PBS/KVCR both located in San Bernardino, California. FNX Channel illustrates the healthy, positive, and real lives and cultures of Native American and indigenous people around the world showcasing TV series, documentaries, short films, PSAs, and films in the categories of lifestyle, children's, drama, comedy, sports, music, art, dance, politics, news, social, cooking, health, animation, fitness, talk show, nature, and gardening. All encapsulating a true voice of Native American and indigenous communities across the globe.

History

FNX began broadcasting on September 25, 2011. The station came to be after a 6 Million dollar gift agreement from the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians.[1] In January 2015, San Manuel donated another 6 million dollars to keep FNX on the air.

On June 12, 2014, FNX was approved as a full-time channel on the Public Television Interconnect System. On November 1 of the same year, FNX started broadcasting on satellite channel SD08.
