Günter Amelung (8 April 1914 – 29 March 1944) was a highly decorated Rittmeister of the Reserves in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Günter Amelung was killed near Oborova, Croatia and was posthumously promoted to Rittmeister der Reserve.
