Garbhasana (Sanskrit: गर्भासन; IAST: Garbhāsana), Embryo Pose,[1] Foetus Pose,[2] or Fetus Pose[3] is an asana.

Etymology

The name comes from the Sanskrit words garbha meaning "embryo" or "fetus" and asana (आसन) meaning "posture" or "seat".[4]

Description

During the performance of this asana, the body takes on the shape of a fetus.
