German Historical Institute

German Historical Institute(s) (GHI, German: Deutsche Historische Institute, DHI) are nine independent academic research institutes situated in Rome; Paris; London; Washington, D.C.; Warsaw; Moscow; Beirut; Istanbul; and Tokyo.[1] Part of the Max Weber Foundation, they are dedicated to the study of historical relations between Germany and the host countries in which they are based.[2]

The GHI is governed under public law and supervised by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (German: Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung).[3]
